Craving for kakaw...

'Kakaw' is cocoa in Maya  language. During that time kakaw was considered as the food of the gods, sebab tu nama saintifiknya Theobroma cacao ( Theobroma in Greek maknanya "food of the gods"). Kira koko ni sangat berharga lar....diguna untuk pemujaan tuhan2 masa zaman Maya dan pada zaman Aztec, biji koko ni pernah jadi matawang.....siap boleh ada counterfeit guna tanah liat lagi....

Zaman sekarang ni koko tetap ada harga....process it into fine chocolate and the price boleh cecah ribu-ribu....ada ker orang beli yer???
Masa hamba dan sepupu2 kecik-kecik ingat lagi dok makan buah koko yang fresh tu kat rumah Pak Teh...isi yang putih tu masam-masam manis, kalau tergigit bijinya rasa nak nangis...pahit gilos!!!! Lepas kitorang makan isi, bijinya tu Pak Teh jemur dan bila dah kering jual kat peraih...Saper lar agaknya dah makan bekas2 air liur hamba tu....

Alkisah nak cerita tentang koko ni is about my craving for this dark brown substance. Hamba tak suka sangat makan coklat bar...tapi kalau hot chocolate drink or susu coklat yang sejuk tu hamba suka lar....dan lagi satu yang hamba suka sangat-sangat dan sangat ialah chocolate cake. Hari ni balik cepat-cepat dari opis pasal teringin sangat nak buat kek coklat. Today cuba resepi lain plak....

Simple chocolate cake

2 cawan tepung serba guna
2 cawan gula
2/3 cawan serbuk koko
1/2 sudu kecil baking powder
1 sudu kecil baking soda 
1/2 cawan minyak sayuran (hamba pakai canola oil)
3/4 cawan air
3/4 cawan buttermilk (kalau xde guna substitute)
1 sudu kecil baking soda
1 sudu kecil garam
1sudu kecil  vanilla
2 biji telur

Cara-cara:

- Panaskan ketuhar 190 degree celcius
- Ayak bahan-bahan kering dalam mangkuk besar
- Campur semua bahan basah
- gaul guna mixer (set paling laju) sampai sebati dan nampak smooth
- masuk dalam tin pembakar yang dah disapu mentega / alas dengan parchment paper
- Bakar dalam 45-50 minit atau sampai masak (cek dengan lidi...kalau dah tak lekat kira masak lar)

Note:
- campuran tepung memang agak cair.....(jangan panik atau tambah tepung pulak tau)
- sediakan chocolate ganache dan tuang atas kek

hasilnya......

Sungguh puas dapat makan kek coklat yang dibuat sendiri. My other favorite is self saucing chocolate pudding....yang ni kena tunggu tekak kata nak makan then hamba buat and share the recipe yer....
